From a young age, I faced several adverse childhood traumas. From having my father deported, to being kicked out on the streets, my life could have taken a turn for the worse. Reflecting on my life, it would have been easy to say, “What’s the point?” but I felt this tug in my heart that constantly said, “There has to be more to life than what I see!”
I listened to that voice, which has taken me far beyond what I could have imagined.
I’m eager to share my journey and to hear yours. Our stories are intertwined, and we are better together.
My goal is to empower YOU to DISCOVER the abilities within you and to share the invaluable life lessons and strategies that helped me overcome adversity.

Overcoming Adversity by Embracing it
Ever heard the phrase, “Face the music?” I encountered those words as I entered my teenage years, and they became the cornerstone for what I needed to overcome. Confronting the solitude following my father’s deportation, the best way forward was to acknowledge my situation and take responsibility for my actions. I like to call it “Embracing Adversity.”
My book, “Left In America – Story of Juan Terrazas,” coauthored with Sally Salas, takes you on the journey of my life as an undocumented immigrant, the hardships I faced, and the people who stood in the gap to make a difference in my life.
